Seokpo smelter produces zinc bars, which is an important basic material in the steel, automobile, home appliance, and construction industries.

The company started production in 1970, and continuous investment enabled the production capacity of
400,000 tons of zinc bar; 728,000 tons of sulfuric acid; 1,830 tons of copper sulfate;
3,000 tons of electrolytic copper cathode; 100 tons of indium; and 46,000 tons of silver by-products.
